Inspicio was established on April 1 2018. The company's purpose is to provide consultancy and advisory services primarily within the field of audit quality and quality management as well as practical compliance with the Danish Act on Approved Auditors and Audit Firms and associated executive orders, including statements of intent, the International Standards on Auditing (ISA) and the Regulation (EU).

We are an independent niche-based consulting company within the area of audit regulation, including Danish and European rules on and about Audit Committees. We advise and provide consultancy services within all areas of the Audit Committee's work, from establishment to evaluation, regulatory compliance and the selection of auditors for courses, training and workshops. We have in-depth knowledge of both "hard law" and "soft law", while focusing on efficiency and value creation.

The company is headed by State Authorized Public Accountant Martin Samuelsen, who is also the ultimate owner, and who has wide-ranging technical experience on specialist level. Thus, Martin Samuelsen has practical experience within the auditing of a wide range of Danish and international companies, including Danish and international listed companies, and he has participated in several international audit-tender processes.

From May 2015 and until March 31 2018, Martin Samuelsen has been the head of the Danish Audit Supervision, through which Martin gained a special insight into the requirements for Audit Committees and their compliance in practice. In this connection, Martin Samuelsen has been a co-author of the Danish Business Authority's guidance on Audit Committees, and he has participated in an internal department of independence specialists, in which complicated independence issues were resolved. As head of the Danish Audit Supervision, Martin has also participated in international work together with supervisors from all over the world, partly in CEAOB (EU Regulators) and IFIAR (Global Audit Regulator Forum) through which Martin gained international experience, perspectives and network connections.

Martin Samuelsen is the co-author of the books “Årsrapport og virksomhedsanalyse – i praktisk perspektiv” (Annual Report and Business Analysis - In a Practical Perspective),"Revision i praksis” (Audit Practice), and “Revisorloven – med kommentarer (5. udgave)” (Comments to the Danish Act on Approved Auditors and Audit Firms (5th Edition)) published in 2018. Martin is also a frequently used teacher at audit courses, and he is also an external lecturer at the Institute of Accounting and Auditing at Copenhagen Business School.
